Next Door recognises the importance of protecting your privacy. We comply with our obligations under the Privacy Act 2020 when we handle your personal information.
Information we collect
We collect information about you for the purposes listed below, when you use our website, apply for a mortgage or insurance product or service, and during our relationship with you. This information may be collected directly from you, or from others (including third-party systems). We can also make enquiries with others to verify the information you provide to us.
Our purposes for collection and use
You agree that we can collect and use your information for: obtaining and verifying your identity and address; checking that you meet our credit criteria and other eligibility requirements; opening and operating your accounts; providing you with our accounts, products and services, and managing your relationship with us; evaluating and improving our customer service; protecting and enforcing our rights; complying with applicable laws; market research and statistical analysis; and letting you know about offers and services that might interest you (including from our loan and insurance suppliers). If you ask us not to provide you this information we will comply. From time to time we may need to use your information for another purpose; if so we will take reasonable steps to make you aware. You authorise us to collect information about you from any person who can provide information that relates to a purpose listed above, including credit reporting agencies.
Disclosure of personal information
You agree that we can share your information with: anyone who needs it to assist us with the purposes above (including third parties in New Zealand and overseas); credit reporting and debt collection agencies; agencies we use to verify identity or address; organisations conducting market research for us; guarantors; insurers; assignees; employers (to confirm employment/income); and law enforcement, courts or regulators where we believe disclosure is required by law or to assist in investigating fraud or other offences. We may also disclose where you authorise us or where required by law.
Storage of information
We can store your information physically or electronically ourselves, or with others contracted to hold it in New Zealand or overseas. We will act reasonably to protect your information from unauthorised use or disclosure.
Your rights
You may ask us for access to the information we hold about you and request corrections. Under the Privacy Act we may charge for this. If you would like access, please contact us.

We may use cookies and web analytics to improve our website and advertising. This may include traffic data, IP address and information you enter. We may use third-party cookies (e.g. Google Analytics). You can prevent or delete cookies via your browser settings.
Security
Next Door takes reasonable steps to preserve the security of your information. No data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed totally secure; you transmit at your own risk. Once we receive it, we take reasonable steps to preserve security in our systems.
Making a privacy complaint

Our complaints process
If you are not satisfied with our service or financial advice, please tell us as soon as possible. Call 0800 562 010, email info@nextdoor.kiwi, or write to 71 Lowe Street, Gisborne 4010. We will consider your complaint and aim to resolve it; we acknowledge within two business days and aim to resolve within 10 working days.
